Buy Your Own Aviation Model RC Plane

Buy Your Own Aviation Model RC Plane

Rc Helicopter

In the early years of aviation after the golden age of air ship, more precisely after Charles Lindbergh's solo flight across the Atlantic in 1927, airplanes with radial engines ruled the skies. The 30s and 40s decade saw many classic flying machines built primarily for the military. Those days' pilots wore scarves, goggles, boots and leather helmets. Amelia Mary Earhart created history flying solo across the Atlantic Ocean in 1932. Amelia Earhart disappeared into history in the year 1937 attempting to circumnavigate the globe.

People are still fascinated by the life, career and the airplanes of early aviators. The real nostalgia buffs still prefer to have RC models of classic airplanes of yesteryears. An RC model airplane is a miniature of the original airplane that once flew. They are built using the same principles of aerodynamics as the original planes.

Classic RC model airplanes look exactly like their originals. They are colored just like the original and have the same logos and symbols as the original ones. These planes are either electric or gas powered. Electrically powered classic RC airplanes use high performance batteries which need frequent recharging.

The fuel powered or gas powered classic RC airplanes have a glow plug engine and the fuel used is gasoline, methanol, or nitromethane. They are also referred as nitro RC model airplanes.

RC model airplane enthusiasts who prefer the classic models can purchase kits that are widely available and build their own classic model. The kits are available as ARTF (almost ready to fly) or RTF (ready to fly). But the real hobbyists prefer to assemble their own classic RC airplanes. A little knowledge of aeronautics and airplanes will help but if you don't have it, you can buy scale RC airplane plans or RC airplane kits and assemble it.

In the early 1930s, model flying was very different from what it is today. In those days the planes were self propelled by rubber bands but as technology progressed it was possible to make small internal combustion engines for model airplanes. Today vintage RC airplanes have the same classic appearance but they sport the modern glow plug engine and an advanced radio gear.

Traditional classic model RC airplanes were powered by diesel engines, there are still some manufacturers making them. You may buy a kit or build a classic RC airplane from scratch using plans. The classic RC airplanes are large scale models of original planes and balsa wood is used in their construction.

These planes are large and hence fly slowly and gently. These planes will typically have a 4stroke glow plug engine and a 3 channel radio. Ben Buckle, a British company is a much respected manufacturer of classic RC airplanes. You may choose from a number of designs which are available such as 'Majestic Major', 'Buccaneer' or the 'Flying Quaker'.

If you prefer the electric powered airplanes then the 'Aerobatic Classic Bi-Plane Electric RC Plane' is recommended. It's a ready to fly model and you can get started once you remove the model from the box. The Bi-Plane design is very stable, the plane performs awesome loops, rolls, upside down flights and many other stunts. It can take off from any smooth surface. The package includes charger, rechargeable batteries, and radio transmitter. This classic RC model airplane appeals to both the novice and veteran.

Drifting RC Cars

Drifting RC Cars

Rc Helicopter

I assume that you have got your RC car setup to drift, if not check out the website at the end for modifying your RC car to drift.

RC Drifting and drifting in general follows the same line as if you were racing, at least one set of tires follows this line. This is the ideal drifting line, although its okay to go wide. So on an entry into a corner you would have your front wheels as close the the apex as possible, while having your rear wheels follow a much wider line (the wider the better). This means that your car is facing apex of the corner, depending on what kind of corner this is it could be as much as 90 degrees to the apex, any more and technically your going backwards, this is called a washout. On the exit you would let your rear sliding towards the opposite side, possibly setting up your next drift.

So from a drivers point of view, albeit via remote control, what you need to do it.

1. Approach the corner as if you were following a racing live, leave enough room for the rear of the car to come out.

2. Turn into the corner very early and maybe dab the break to help break the rear traction.

3. as the rear starts to slide, squeeze the throttle and turn into the slide (this part takes a lot of practise)

4. Once the drift has started you should be able to keep the steering centered and use the throttle to invoke over or under steer, you will still need to use the steering to keep your angle perfect and also you need throttle to control your speed, in which case steering is necessary to control the rotation of your car.

5. If you can drift a course by just invoking a drift then steering with your throttle this makes for an incredibly smooth drift, if you can couple this with a few passes with your nose and tail a hairs breadth from the curb, then you got it.

6. It's considered by most that you should be counter-steering through the corners, i.e. your front wheels should be steering into the drift at all times, while this is true for D1 drifting, with RC it is a little different, for one we are 99% four wheel drive, and secondly the weight distribution is almost always in the middle or back of the chassis, which means when the car slides the inertial pulls the heavy rear around automatically.

The transition is the most difficult part, it depends a lot on your car, but a good place to start is by understanding weight transfer.

When you brake the weight transfers forward, when you floor it, it goes backwards and when you turn it goes to the opposite side, turn left, weight goes right. To transition smoothly from one drift to another you have to shift the weight of the car to get it to do what your want, your can't steer it, that's called racing ;)

Okay so we are in mid drift and clip the apex while holding a huge angle, we exit the right turn, turn slightly to the right and floor it to keep the drift going, over rotating slightly to induce a good angle on the exit. You now need to turn into the drift (turn left) very slightly and hold the angle, the car should move straight down the track, with a big drift angle, while slowly making for the right side of the track (we have a left turn coming up). About 2-3 car lengths before the next corner back off the throttle ( now the weight transfers to the front, pushing the front tires into the asphalt and lifting the rear slightly, this give good grip on the front and makes the rear slide like mad ) Turn to the left, the rear will respond by swinging around, as it's doing this turn into the drift and give throttle. The four wheel drive will stop the rotation as the weight transfers to the back tires and they get more grip. Hold the drift, adjusting it with throttle and steering until the next corner. Rinse,Repeat.

Drifting isn't easy, it helps to know the track, some surfaces will have a different effect on you when you slide sideways over them, it pays to learn where these are. If you find there is a section you 180 on, go see if there isn't a slight change of gradient or a small defect in the road. Often during competitions there will be a section of the track that a lot of people struggle with.

Banana Hobbies - How to Choose the Best RC Helicopter for You

Banana Hobbies - How to Choose the Best RC Helicopter for You

Rc Helicopter

People who are new to Banana Hobbies RC helicopters often face the dilemma of selecting the most suitable model for them. With so many designs and brands to choose from, it can really be a hobbyist's nightmare-but luckily there are three main factors that will help you determine which product is right for you. Read the information provided below so you can finally pick the model chopper that fits your needs.

3 Factors to Consider When Choosing Your RC Helicopter

1. Budget. First of all, you have to know how much you're willing to spend on your new toy gadget. There is one main thing that affects the price of a chopper, and that is its power source. RC helicopters come in either electric or fuel-powered models-the former uses batteries and is therefore more affordable, while the latter uses nitro, petrol, gas turbine and other fuel types that makes it a lot more expensive. A typical electric model can go as low as 0 and reach to ,500 while fuel-powered types cost from ,000 to ,000.

Electric RC choppers are common among hobbyists because it's less stressful on the budget, but there are still enthusiasts who prefer fuel-powered models because of the longer flight duration and stronger engines. However, you can never really tell which type is superior to the other because it all depends on the user's preference and purpose. But remember that it's always better to go with a fairly expensive model that you know is made of high quality rather than settle for a cheaper brand that doesn't really meet your standards. So whether you choose an electric or fuel helicopter, be sure to check the quality and performance so you will always get your money's worth.

2. Purpose. Your main objective also plays an essential part in your buying decision. Ask yourself what you're going to use your model chopper for: is it for recreational purposes, are you going to start a collection, or are you planning to join flying competitions?

If it's only for fun and recreation, then a fairly-priced but quality item should do. For a model helicopter collection, you will need more stylish models that you can proudly display in your home. For flying purposes, however, you will definitely need a stronger and more proficient design so you can compete with the other chopper models in the contest. Ask a fellow hobbyist or a Banana Hobbies professional to give you some credible advice on how to choose a capable chopper.

3. Preferences. Finally, you should know the features you want for your mini helicopter so you can find the one that really works for you. Some of the basic specifications you need to decide on are the following:

Brand: choose from reputable small helicopter manufacturers such as Art-Tech, BlitzRCWorks, Colco, ESky, HeliPro, Nine Eagles, Walkera and many more.

Power source: choose from electric or fuel-powered types.

Size: sub-micro (<100g <20cm rotor diameter, extremely small and suitable for indoor flying), micro (small models that are often 350-sized), miniature (400 to 450-sized pitch helicopters), small (500-sized electric helicopters with tiny nitro engines), normal (30 and 50-sized nitro or 600-sized electric), large (60 and 90-sized nitro or 700-sized electric), and beyond.

Once you have determined exactly what specifics you want, then it will be easier for you to choose your very own Banana Hobbies helicopter. Just make sure you consider all the three factors mentioned above so you won't have a hard time deciding which model to purchase. Again, don't hesitate to call customer service or ask a friend who's into RC choppers if you encounter any problems.

How to Master Radio Controlled Helicopters Autorotation Landings

How to Master Radio Controlled Helicopters Autorotation Landings

Rc Helicopter

The auto circling is one of the best interesting, and arduous assignment that an RC helicopter can perform. Autorotation is the accompaniment of flight area the RC helicopters rotors circuit freely, after ascribe from the engine. This agency that the rotors alone accept 2 activity sources: their own drive and the advancement motion of air over the blades, acquired by the helicopters descent. In an autorotation landing, the pilot needs to administer the coast acceleration of the rc helicopter, so that abundant activity is larboard in the blades to abate the landing acceleration to a safe amount. This account shows the aberration amid powered and autorotation RC helicopter flight.

Not alone are autorotations a army adorable maneuver, they are of basic accent during an accessories failure. If the agent of the RC helicopter stops for any reason, afresh auto circling flight begins immediately. It will be up to the pilot to handle the bearings appropriately an acreage the RC helicopter safely.

Fortunately, there is a way to convenance autorotations safely, after boundless accident to the RC helicopter. Begin by ambience the burke authority position to about 30 percent, or aloof abundant such that the RC helicopter will almost hover. Mark the burke authority about-face by agreement a allotment of ammunition tubing over it. This will let you acquisition it quickly, by giving it a altered feel than the added switches.

You can adept the autorotation by afterward this procedure:

Learn to ascendancy the coast - The aboriginal footfall is to apprentice how to fly a controlled coast beneath low power. Take off, and afresh alpha by axis the RC helicopter so that it faces into the wind. Afresh abate your burke and aggregate angle so that the RC helicopter descends gradually. Accumulate the adenoids acicular beeline ahead, and accumulate the RC helicopter level. After you accept descended to about 20 feet, access ability and akin off. Abide these convenance runs until you become actual confident.

Now try it with low ability - After you become adequate with descents at accustomed burke settings, you are accessible to try them with the burke reduced. This will acquiesce you apprentice to autorotate, while acceptance you to bond out if the bearings becomes dangerous. Convenance footfall one again, but this time do it with the burke authority engaged. You will appetite the RC helicopter to be actual aerial back aggravating this for the aboriginal time. Like before, accept the RC helicopters adenoids pointing into the wind. Engage the burke hold, and use the aggregate to ascendancy the coast rate. Aloof like in footfall one, access the burke and akin out at about 20 anxiety aloft the ground. Repeat this until you are adequate with descents at low power, and afresh attack a controlled landing. Landings at low ability absorb the afterward steps:

Entry - This occurs back you abate power, and alpha to descend.

Descent - Coast should be almost rapid, so that added activity is larboard in the rotor blades for landing.

Flare - As you abreast the ground, cull the adenoids of the helicopter up and use the aggregate to abate coast speed.

Landing - Use the aftermost of the rotors drive to apathetic your final coast to a safe amount, and acreage the RC helicopter.

It is actual important that you let the RC helicopter alight almost rapidly at aboriginal - you will charge the added rotor acceleration to acreage safely.

Reduce burke ability - After arrive a controlled coast and landing at 30 percent throttle, abide practicing at lower and lower burke settings. Eventually, you should be able to assassinate a able landing with the agent at idle.

Congratulations! You mastered autorotation landings.

RC Helicopter Blades - Should You Trust the Reviews?

RC Helicopter Blades - Should You Trust the Reviews?

Rc Helicopter

As a globally recognized radio controlled helicopter pilot with dozens of medals and rewards, I know a thing or two concerning blades on RC helicopters, and the issues that they can occasionally cause. There's a guy who left a high-quality evaluation for a company that didn't know enough about to write an educated assessment, there are additionally stories about individuals who left bad reviews when actually the product was quite useful, and subsequently they were by no means asked to create a review for another business again, and this small error cost them thousands as well.

But the moral of the short article is, constantly make 100% sure that your evaluation are well examined and that you do not place your name on everything unless you sincerely trust that it is a high quality product, even then at the same moment, it's extremely easy to merely write badly about anything, but you must also dodge that if you ever would like to be certified for any more reviews again. When it comes to rc helicopter blades, I was extremely fortunate to be a part of a detailed rc helicopter blade testing lesson, so I could envision what are crucial things to check whilst you're looking into buying another rc helicopter for your large or small collection, and especially once you're getting prepared to pay for your very first radio controlled helicopter.

Fundamentally, the blades are ultra important. They must be able to take a lot of damage, just in case you are not a very skilled flyer, for the reason that it is the blades that will sometimes run into objects and become broken. At the same instant, you do not wish for the blades to be too sharp, for the reason that you do not want them to break any of your other things, especially if you are flying the RC helicopter in your house (which I attempt to discourage in every circumstances, but Everyone does it). All together, you're best off going with a helicopter that has strong metal or plastic blades-although the plastic blades tend to be lighter, so they are sometimes the better bet, but the metal blades tend to be more durable, so it's really anyone's guess. And you moreover want to look for blades that are rounded at the ends. This is not only useful because rounded ends are more sleek, it is also great for the reason that you can guard your body and your family from wounding themselves on the radio controlled helicopter blades while they are, for example, landing a helicopter down from the sky.

There's a good friend of mine who had a helicopter on top of her bed, and she did not have any idea to get rounded blades, and once she reached to grab it down, she instantly dropped it, and in fact cut her hands very seriously. She did not need stitches, but it was still a very scary occurrence for her that she might have easily avoided by just buying a RC helicopter with rounded ends on the wings. In some other situations, I hear about some people that purchased metal blades on their rc helicopters, and the remnants of the helicopter was not built strongly enough to hold up the heavy metal blades, and these rc helicopters by no means fly properly.
